CONSUMER INFORMATION FOR HOCKEY PLAYERS AND THEIR FAMILIES

Ice hockey is a fast-paced, contact sport with a certain amount of risk inherent to the sport. Hockey players should always use certified equipment. This is especially true with headgear. Use of HECC certified headgear is strongly advised because HECC certification indicates that the headgear has met the applicable standards. Here's what to look for when purchasing your helmet and face protector:

  • Always seek assistance from experienced staff to ensure compliance with respect to sizing and fitting.

  • Always purchase helmets, which have the HECC Certification sticker with a valid certification date affixed to the helmet.

  • Always verify that helmets and face protectors have been certified as compatible - see and read manufacturers instructions.

  • Always refer to the manufacturer's instructions for fitting, use and compatibility.
